BioTech Annecto has the pleasure of inviting you to the presentation given by Jim Cochrane, Recherche Clinique Cochrane, Inc., titled:
‘Who’s the Boss: Being an Independent CRA’.
Jim started to work in clinical research in 1994 after graduating from Concordia University with a Bachelors’ in Exercise Science and the University of Waterloo with a Masters’ in Kinesiology. After a brief start with Glaxo as both data manager and regional CRA, he established himself over 4 and half years as a senior data manager and clinical/data project manager with Phoenix International Life Sciences (now INC). Following short stays with Pfizer and Moncoa Medical Research, again in both data management and clinical research, Jim’s career as a home-based CRA took off in 2001 when he joined Innovus Research (now inVentiv Clinical). He became an ACRP certified CRA in 2004. In 2008, cut-backs at i3 Research presented him with an opportunity to become an independent clinical research consultant. Since then, Jim have worked with pharmaceutical companies, CROs and independent sites as a CRA, Auditor and Quality Specialist.
Jim will address the following questions:
1) Becoming a Clinical Research Associate

2) Process and transformation from employee to businessman
. o determine what you know and what you don’t

. o how to find work
. o what type of work can you do?
. o full-time vs part-time
4) Answering the many masters – who is the boss?
. o contract and workload management

5) Managing your own career
